... s house in Maidstone, with a mug of tea reflecting on an amazing 5 days. I have met old friends and lots of new ones. I have never laughed so much or been so impressed by the generosity of complete strangers...a big THANK YOU from us all.
Well I know it's a Friday night & I should be out celebrating but I think I might just have another cuppa & early night!
Well I'm getting quite excited now! last night I met Colin, Wendy, Leigh and Sarah, 3 of the team that will be riding with me. They were all really nice and Wendy had even made me a leather waistcoat but I might have to cut down on the doughnuts as it was a little snug!
It was good to meet them all and we discussed the trip, what gear everyone was taking and what the weather would be like. I told them that the sun always shines up North! but I don't think ...
Two days left - still can't really believe we're going. Excited and also a bit nervous - how will we get from place to place especially around Cambodia and China?
Working our way through our final to-do list and just hoping not to have any last minute panics!!
Suppose it won't sink in until we're on the plane:)

... amp; sun glasses.
This morning the sun was shining, so I went out to look at one of the motorcycles that will be taking me around the UK and even managed to get my photograph taken. Only 16 days to go, I can't wait. Should be meeting the other riders early next.
... atmosphere, tons of fun. Went on a pub crawl with some BC people afterwards to see what Hastings had to offer. Think we wound up going to 6 pubs or something.
Woke up the next morning and had buffet English breakfast. Not too bad, although the eggs were a bit funny. The group walked up to Hastings Castle, where we got the whole breakdown of the events leading to the invasion in 1066 by William the Conqueror from Normandy. We walked a little through the Old Town ...
I'm not quite sure how to begin. Yes, I do. I LOVE London.
It seemed that every time I wanted to go, something came up. It happened again last week. I meant to get up early and head up (I had heard that Greenpeace was on the roof of Parliament). My alarm didn't go off, and I woke up just when I should have been catching the bus. I rushed around, only to have one thing and then another hold me ...
... government. It also pays the bills so thats the main thing!! People in NZ complain about the time it takes to travel to their jobs but thats nothing comapred to my 2 hours travelling to work each day and then 2 hours home! Now i know how lucky i was to be working 5minutes drive to work! At least it keeps me fit as i have to walk from my house to the train station, then catch the train into London, then walk to the bus ...
Kent, United Kingdom jamie_annekaI looked at myself in the mirror this morning and saw two dark hollows where I'm sure I once had eyes. I look at bit like a Panda bear, and having heard from a friend at work yesterday that Panda's were the joke du jour at a local comedy club, I'm aware that this might not be a good thing! My head is in that half numb state where the brain is still hiding beneath the covers of fatigue. A walk to the station more or less cures this and it's ...
London, United Kingdom robjstaplesWell, only 14 weeks to go and things are starting to happen now. Flights are booked and paid for, jabs organised, leaving party organised and the savings are finally growing. Seems such a long way off but Im sure it will go quickly (although not quick enough for those who have to keep listening to us talk about it - sorry if we are boring you already but just think a whole year of not having to listen to either of us talking - its got to be worth it ...
