... we were on a massive hill so we had the put bricks under the wheels so we were not rolling on top of each other in the night. I was gutted that we came to Wellington on this date because in 4 or 5 days time there was an international 7s tournament and the whole city becomes a festival party but we missed it. Wanaka, queenstown, milford track
... west coast of the south island is full of sandflys. Some people dont react much to the bites, but others like me get huge red lumps that itch like mad. I got bitten loads of times travelling in nelson, greymouth, franz josef and fox glacier and hated sandflys... but they really did make my life a misery on the milford track for 5 days. Its well known that the milford track is full of them (the end point is even called sandfly point) and so id took a whole bottle of insect repellant. ...
