... then decided to abandon that stopover. We headed out about 4:35 pm after discovering that Elizabeth was in need of a new rear tire. 40 km into the ride, the sky lit up with bolt and sheet lightening and we headed for the first gas station in Fenton, Louisiana which provided shelter during the subsequent downpour. ... that we actually had a decent shower for the first time in days. Eager to get off the interstate we set the GPS to a more scenic route so that we could drive through the small towns of Louisiana. Although the route was fairly close to the interstate the driving experience was completely different. ... because someone thought 5:30 a.m. was a good time to fly out. But instead of sleeping I will lay their with my thoughts running 90 miles an hour - is everything packed, did I get everything done at work that I should have, am I crazy for going away for two whole weeks? Can only hope that by the time the plane lands in Honolulu, I will be able to relax, leave all my worries behind and enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer.

... three hour drive into New Orleans so we should be there by noon. Our campsite is very nice. Has water and electrical outlets right next to the picnic table and even has a shower in the bathroom. I'm a little confused about how Louisiana handles the finances of their parks because we had to drive on a dirt road to get to the park but when we got here the bathrooms were air conditioned. I'm not complaining though because with the humidity I will take any air conditioning I can ...
