... Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. The railroad started here in the 1800s and still has massive facilities here. Of course its now all BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe). Karen and I walked just over a mile across town to visit the old, historic Union Station. ... in Sayre, OK. We wanted to drive through this little town as this was the location for the filming of The Grapes of Wrath. Looking at the old abandoned buildings the dusty roads and the lack of people around I can say that the movie producers probably didn't need to change much. It was a bit depressing but in an odd way it was a neat place to visit after having recently read The Grapes of Wrath.

We landed in Frankfurt and didn't have to go through customs! I love Germany! Its sooooooooooooooooooo green here! I missed this color after being surrounded by nothing but beige all week long. Nicolle and I are going to try and get Dave Hartley, our art in plein air instructor the past two summers to take a class to Germany to capture the landscape. My sap green would be so toast!
