Journey to Brussels and Back Again

... was 1965. The actual statue is about two blocks off the Grand Place. We walked down there, the statue was naked and Robyn took a couple of pictures. After that we had had enough of Brussels and caught a train back to Brugge. Brussels is crowded with tourists and the Grand Place and area around it caters to tourists, it is okay but not sure I would go back.

... quaint & beautiful old town (I think she has rated it alongside Tallin & Bergen, just ahead of Helsinki & Stockholm).

Anyway at 5:15pm, leave we did, & rode the 3 hour drive back to Amsterdam. Fortunately, the bus dropped us near our tram stop, so as we approached a No.25 Tram was there, so we hopped aboard & were back in our hotel by 9pm.

... singer and the background music, I watched one of the waiters come from the bar towards me. I thought he was going to ask me if I wanted to order another drink but he just spoke to me and said he thought I had a nice voice, and then went back to the bar again. I guess with them working in the same place and always being subjected to a similar selection of karaoke singers who are usually not great, it must be nice for them to hear someone who can hold a reasonable tune. ...
