After my hotel breakfast I packed up and dropped my biohazardous used needs at the hospital across the street. I went for a walk around the Northeaster section of the city. ... between Dutch and French. In practicality though, Brussels is really a French speaking city. Bruges is known as the “jewel of flanders” and is officially Dutch speaking. The south of Belgium is French speaking and is known as Wallonia. There is also a German speaking part in the east. I think the language gives you a good idea of how much Belgium is a country of states rather than a single country with a single history.
