... sounded like thunder...only for her to point out huge bits of ice that were breaking away from the glacier above us and crashing down into hundreds of pieces. We hiked for around 3 hours and the view was spectacular. We took the helicopter back and made our way to our hostel where we will be staying for two nights. I made some pasta for tea, met the resident fat ginger cat, did some laundry and went to bed. We have a free day tomorrow so I am looking forward to a bit of a lie ...

The rows upon rows of vineyards are pretty to look at as you are whizzing by, especially as we were at a ...

... it easier to walk on. We was just expecting a walk along the ice however it was a lot better than we expected with the guide finding all sorts of interesting routes including going through a crevice which was literally a crack in-between 2 huge slabs of ice. It no more than a few feet wide and we had to walk sideways to be able to fit through and the walk through it was for a good 5-10 minutes most definitely not for cloustraphobics! We was on the ice for 3 hours finding many more ...

... had a van so drove us to the car park near to the glaciers, which saved us a good hours walk. Then we looked at some of the maps, and decided to do the 'Roberts walk ' which gave an estimated walk time of 5 hours 20 (Jonny and I wanted to do the shorter walk of 3 hours but we were outvoted). But as it turned out, David and Cassie most definitely wished that we had done the shorter walk. Wow o wow it was a full on climb to the top - so imagine ...
