In 1915, over 5,000 Belgians fled to France for safety from the Germans. ... some having up to 12.5% alcohol! Our tour guide said some pubs have a limit to how many beers they will sell you as they are so strong. We tried a few of them but my favourite was definitely the cherry beer, which I brought back to London with me. :)

Horse buggies going around giving tours speed down the road, reminds me of walking around in NYC. They were beautiful horse but weren't afraid to run you over. ... through the park and then to the grocery store. For dinner Jaey made a lovely chicken curry, and he even made the curry sauce himself from scratch. I swear, Belgian people are crazy when it comes to food!

The night was very relaxed, just played cards, ate a bunch of local Belgian snacks and watched a movie. Really relaxing way to end a great day! So appreciative to Jaey and Djuna for sure for letting me stay at their place and making me feel so welcome. Life is good ...
