... There is a trail called the Root River State Trail that comes right through the area, so lots of people were there with their bikes. The restaurant is a huge white barn with tons of artifacts inside, and fantastic food, so we really lucked out. We met a couple at the campsite next to us and had supper with them - a really nice night out.

11th-12th July A long day of traveling yesterday, we crossed the whole of Wisconsin. We drove to Milwaukee first to the Miller brewery where we had a tour, it was more about the history of Miller and their production capacity, than about beer making. We then drove to Madison, the state capital for lunch, it was a nice city, not very big, but with lots of independent shops and cafes. ...

Fantastic time spend with family and their friends on the lake. Had a bit of trouble with an inflatable, swimming in the lake was brilliant. Saw an eagle and beautiful large dragonflies. Boys. Went tubing and sailing and fast trips in speed boat. Great fun was had by all! Ate dinner near the lake - pizza for everyone ...

... and had a lovely chat while we set up. We are parked on the nicely cut grass with all the amenities to make living in a box more home like. We had showers, a dinner of salad, linguini with red sauce, corn on the cob and garlic bread. So nice to relax together in such a lovely spot. Too bad it is only one night.

... known as an outdoor sport destination. Knowing the storms were approaching we managed to get a walk along the trail, dinner and be back at our B&B before they hit. The B&B we stayed at is a large historic old house that even served as a small hospital in a bygone era. The rocking chairs on the porch were a great spot to wait for the approaching storms before we retreated to the creaky old ...
