Wisconsin State - "America's Dairyland"
Decided to break the trip through to Minneapolis so stayed halfway at Wisconsin Dells. Reminded us of Pigeon Forge with amusement and water parks everywhere. A real summer holiday spot for the tourists. Population is 2600 but one hotel alone (Mt Olympus) advertised 1500 rooms.
After a day at the factory and some extra effort this AM. The factory has got, I hope, all of Tina's problems solved. Left Decatur, IN at 9:30 this AM. Drove 435 miles today. So we have driven 1050 miles on our trip.
It was 41 degrees this AM when we went out.
The scenery is repetitive- corn fields as far as the eye can see. Less than exciting.
... over the fairgrounds in ankle high wet grass. Heart attack flashed before my eyes and chest! Once we found the stupid unit we unpacked quickly, stowing our possessions in the ample storage. We laid down on the new rock hard foam mattresses. How could foam feel like a concrete slab covered with a sheet? We slept well considering how tired we were. Too tired and dry camping with no Internet, so no news now.
tomorrow is another day.
This was our day to enjoy Door County. We wanted to have a little taste of what it was all about. We'd already driven quickly through the cute little villages, and if we had more time we would have spent more time in them, and I do kind of feel badly we didn't, and I promise we'll do better next time if we are able to ever come again.
