... heron flew off and the geese waddled away as we continued back to the take-out. Up the rocky bank, I stumbled and worried about getting the boats up, but Otto dragged them most of the way up the bank. We had the extra effort of driving to collect Otto's car as we had transferring my kayak & stuff into his vehicle on the way in. This time I had my keys - or rather Otto was safeguarding them.

hit a trail near by… until Mazy put on the brakes, ears back, trailed narrowed…
we decided it was a good time to turn around. Had a great ride and lunch at a waterfront restaurant on Lake George, NY
... We are camped at the Battlefield State Park right by Lake George. Walked down to the lake after dinner and took in the sights. No electric here, so we're calling it a night and getting up at the crack of dawn to head to Niagara Falls.

Yesterday we took a drive to Lake Placid, site of the 1980 Olympics (also 1932). It was really crowded with people so it must be the place to get away from it all. We just had lunch and then drove around a bit. The Adirondacks is a beautiful area that is heavily forested and has lots of lakes. The mountains are not as high as we are used to. Today we just relaxed a bit and explored the area around our campground.
Tomorrow we are off to Vermont.
We left Parish, New York this morning after a wonderful week there. The resort was very nice and the area was beautiful. I love upstate New York.
