... at least part of the way. What we did not know was that there was a community walk in aid of Suicide Prevention and thousands of people were crammed on to the bridge ready for the start. Instead we crossed by car but did get a good look at the edifice as we drove over the river.

This is an incredible gem of a museum – and I can’t thank Judy and Robert enough, since without their tip we would have missed this totally exhilarating day!
... and their historical society has done a wonderful job of marking sites, but I find it loud and busy for a small town. The park area we are in however is very peaceful.... all we here are ducks and blue jays. We will move on to Lock # 5 in a day or so where we are told we can dock overnight in a pretty park, and then on to Mechanicville at Lock #3. ...
... even checking out Bruce's old homestead in Brandon. This is a really nice area of the state - far enough away, yet close enough as well.
8/20-8/21....While traveling through Manchester, VT our next stop was in Pownal, VT where we are currently staying at the Pine Hollow Campground. It's a small campground, but well maintained and is right outside of Bennington, VT. Campsites are spacious and surround the pond in the middle ...
After a delicious dinner and great visit with Josh, Jenn and Olivia in their cool Stowe home, we crashed last night at The Northern Lights' Lodge. This morning started with exercise for both Maura and I. She dropped me off at Josh's gym, The Swimming Hole. Her plan to take a long walk on Stowe's recreational trail was cut a little short.
