High Gaterley Farm York

... decided to go inside for a little bit more of a peek but me and Noma marvelled at it from a far. I think Noma was still recovering from the viking poo!! She had a funny smile on her face for at least 4 hours!! Anyway enough of the poo!!

After a short walk around the city centre, which is full of medieval architect, we jumped back into the car for the 2 hour journey back to the caravan!

Called the garage first thing. Told van should be ready early afternoon. So its off to Annie's for a good English breakfast. Thanks Mum & Dad - much appreciated.

... date of the 21st September as Paddy had a failing business to wrap up and Amanda had a lot of loose ends in her job to tie up. We also had a very important wedding to attend; Paddy's daughter Kylie, to her fiance Dave.
Amanda's Boss asked her to reconsider leaving so a deal was struck, with her working on line and the phone while away and returning for a period,each month to take care of business in the U.K.

It's quite strange to think I'm setting off so soon, after planning this trip for the best part of a year. The realisation creeps up on you suddenly, leaving you hugely excited and yet a wee bit apprehensive...But at least I have travel insurance now. I can now happily risk my life ...

... by. Unfortunately, as the night wore on he became more and more self absorbed so by the end we were quite happy to ditch him and seek out some food. At least we had had a good walk around town. We couldn't find a pub that was still serving food at 9pm and we didn't feel like sitting down to a proper meal at a restaurant, so we ended up buying some milk and having muesli for dinner.

It turned out my initial impression was right. Beverley had a small town atmosphere and pace; but still had enough things to visit to make a stay interesting.
