... and beautiful. They are occupied by a motley collection of local businesses (pet food store, gym,children's clothing outlet, veterinarian), clearly much different from their heyday. Ware was followed by picturesque villages like West Brookfield, with a town green surrounded by white houses and a church.

... piece of fish on a bun with lettuce and tomato, and a large cup of clam chowder. The flaky fish was lightly battered so that it was not greasy. The chowder was also very good. Good food and lots of it!

After lunch, we drove to Narragansett Pier. We looked for a pier, but could not find one. Instead, we found a beautiful old stone gate to the city, and a very nice beach.
