We are now truly on vacation. Yesterday we arrived at the home of Karen's niece, Tia. Tia and her family live in South Riding, which is an hour or so west of Washington, DC. This morning we are just hangin out, sipping coffee, visiting, and getting ready for a birthday party. Its so nice to take a break from our travels and just relax. The area was massive. I didn't realize how huge it was. Lots of separate battle fields all put together.
It is basically one huge memorial. Statues and monuments mark where battles took place and where platoons of soldiers lost there lives in one of the bloodiest conflicts in the civil war.
