    ... which rapidly became one of the biggest cardboard sword fights I'd ever seen. Several of them fighting each other across the entirety of the street, and none willing to back down. By the time we made it to the 7/11 near Thomas's house many roofs had been ascended and several road signs and one mop had also been obtained. Unfortunately the man in the 7/11 was not so happy with us bringing a mop into his establishment as he had just cleaned the floor!

    ... knowing if they should adjust or not and half the time they needed to pop but wouldn't resulting in me feeling a little spaced out and a little death.

    It was tough to pull myself away, but after all my research and route planning, I'm getting pretty excited for this journey. I'll be back soon enough. Now it's time for el Burro to take me to Santa Barbara to throw some things into storage and organize my gear.

    ... are fair trade, and a cute cow chalkboard for my kitchen - it was very much my style (not to mention the golden retriever who was in with his owner and got a belly rub from Darrin). Also hit a t-shirt shop and got a nice shirt with a black lab on it because it reminded me of my doggie. Also in Carmel there are all these little alleys leading to hidden courtyards - we only checked out a few, but I really wished we had spent 4 hrs ...

    Before we set off on our trip, we had told the kids that each one of them would get a "Kids Day" at some point during our vacation - an entire day where they could dictate everything we did from dusk to dawn, from where we ate to the activities we did - no questions asked.
