    ... cold and sleep deprivation were taking there toll and bordering on having micro sleeps we were glad to hit San Luis Obispo.

    ... catch the train to Monterey. Train was due to leave at 3.30 and it was recommended to get there nice and early to check in luggage etc. We were in good time and Marlene hugged me goodbye - what a lovely woman. They said the train was about 20 minutes late. I took a quick stroll around nearby streets and found a cafe there with a vegan apple and cinnamon muffin - yum!
