Thankfully, I brought the Aussie credit cards with us as an emergency backup, and we were able to pay for our meal and sit down and relax for a bit. Another thing we notice in Santa Barbara, is that there are a lot of homeless people around - one notices us and quips "just another day in paradise". I keep the kids close to us.
