    ... we've stayed at had was a "storm shelter". I guess being in the prairies and with possible tornados they needed to provide a place to go. They used the space for the restrooms and showers as well and it was built underground into a hill. When Bruce had his shower that night there was quite a few little frogs jumping around in there with him!

    Our destination in De Smet, SD was the Laura Ingalls Wilder Homestead. We didn't know quite what to expect. The website said there was hands on activities but pulling in from the dirt road it didn't look like much besides the big visitor center/gift shop.
