... Bay, deciding to go by the Coastal Scenic route. We didn't realise it but this entailed 13 km on dirt roads but, unlike Australia, the hire company's attitude is “if you don't use dirt roads you miss a lot of the interesting bits”. We spent the dusk watching some yellow eyed penguins coming back to their nests from fishing but they did seem to spend a lot of time just standing looking as pretty as they could. ... da det er vores sidste aften sammen. Efter aftensmad gjorde vi os klar, hørte dansk festmusik og drak øl på værelset. Det var rigtig hyggeligt. Vi havde alle taget vores Bungy Jump t-shirts på, som vi havde fået gratis, fordi vi havde sprunget. Vi skulle jo fejre, at vi alle tre havde gjort det. Vi havde en god aften i byen, og vi var rundt at kigge på lidt forskellige barer, og mødte også en masse flinke mennesker, så det var en god sidste aften sammen.

Wow wow wow what an emotional day for Vicky & I - more about that later

We were off the ship right on time at 8 am and it was cold - the rental van was there but the agent wasn't so we had to wait in the freezing cold - I didn't expect to be off the ship so quick and had put down a pick up time of 8.30 am so we had to wait - they were 10 minutes late but it felt a lot longer

... dozens come in at this beach just a few days earlier. We arrived a bit too early, but settled in to wait. The yellow-eyed penguins are the most timid of the area species. If they see anyone on the beach, they won't come ashore. A viewing hide was provided in the sand dunes, but the beach was really busy on a Friday night. All evening long, couples and small groups kept arriving, walking around the beach and leaving as patience wore ...

... stop at the liquor shop for a thirst quencher during the walk :D They check bags and some coats at the stadium entrances for anyone trying to bring in their own alcohol (god knows why people have a problem with paying $6 for a small room temperature can of Heineken once you get in the stadium)…but thankfully clubbing experiences ...
