We didn't make a ton of progress on the map yesterday, but did a lot. I took the Mini in to get the oil changed and purchased some roof rack crossbars so we could go to REI and get a cargo box. It remains debatable whether we needed it or not, but it looks awesome!! A quick stop at the Mall Of America, lunch at an Italian place, Tucci Benucch, (I needed some lasagna!) Off we go! but lots of wildlife and birds and a chance to have a campfire again.
During the night the NWS was sending alerts to my phone warning of flash flooding and the Illinois and Sangammon rivers over flowing. It was a violent storm and I will have to cross the Sangammon tomorrow morning and hope to camp near the Illinois River tomorrow.

... was held at Avanti's Italian Restaurant by the local State Farm agent which is again really nice for our budget. I hung out later at one of the cafes nearby with some of the riders and they convinced me to ride again tomorrow. It is another 40 mile day, tomorrow but I am going to be on a regular bike instead of the tandem. I don't know if the pain I had from the uncomfortable seats last time is going to prove to be worth it for the extra help another person gives ...
