For a change of scenery from the hotel where Rodrigo had been ill we found an old house that had been turned into a hotel/hostel with a veranda that wrapped around the front overlooking the main street on Isla Colon. We were lucky to have almost the entire upstairs including a kitchen, the veranda and 2 rocking chairs to ourselves for 3 days for only $17USD ...

In the kitchen at Mondo Taitu, Mike and I tried to make pancakes on their ****** pan with some confusing batter......Fail. We wound up making scrambled pancakes. Who knew that was such a thing. After this lovely breakfast, we tried calling a hostel on Isla Bastimentos but there was no answer. After wandering around town checking other hostel prices, we wound up back at Mondo Taitu.
