      ... doesn’t understand the odds are not in his favor.

      The rest of the evening he is monopolizing the TV to watch basket ball on the one and only TV in the room. That is why I’m here typing in the blog. So I’m just enjoying a small single serving bottle of cherry torched rum by Bacardi. Good, yummy cherry flavor and scent, highly recommended. A great mix with cherry 7UP or cherry Coke.

      ... and pine trees that make the scenery even better. The water here is absolutely crystal clear and I haven't seen too many lakes that are this clean. We probably drove another 20 minutes to enter the California side of Tahoe, which is much more developed. We still stopped at all the beaches if there were any, but most of the California side was developed with houses and not public beaches. The houses were actually mostly cabins, which I liked. ...

      A beautiful drive up into the mountains brought us to Lake Tahoe where we spent two days and one night.


      Lessons learned:

      1. On a hot, busy summer weekend, make sure you get to the lakefront parks early or you may not find a parking spot.

      2. Lake Tahoe would have made a great national park, rather than the haphazardly overdeveloped tourist site that it is now. Plan to visit the local parks, not the town of South Lake ...
