Our last days in the States were filled with many fun things. We went to the Rapid City Stock Show and visited the animals at the petting zoo. Bryn and Sage both liked the lamb best, probably because it was the most accessible. Grandma liked the Charolais bulls, which are blonde or white. The day we were there was the bull day. This meant that pretty much all the animals outside the petting zoo were bulls. It was interesting to see the different sizes. There were ...

Bed Time on the Train

A travel blog entry by collicott on Aug 01, 2011

A refueling stop at St. Paul / Minneapolis occurred soon after dark and we were quite tired. Before bed, though, the boys and I took the opportunity to stretch our legs and walk around out on the platform. He worked out a diagonal positioning that encroached a bit on the adjacent bed, but everybody fell asleep easily enough.

This past week has been a whirlwind; I finished my junior year and became a senior, got to see my last minute tourist sites, and hopped on a ...

First leg of the joirney

At the St.Paul/Minneapolis airport. Most of the people around me are speaking English, one group is speaking Hmong. I'm paying special attention to what it feels like to "blend in" as I'm on a journey where, for the first time in my life, I will learn what it feels like not to. I'm sad to say avoir to Jacques, but know he will follow in a few short weeks and we get to have our Indian wedding. I'm so excited to get to marry him (again). Thank you all for the well wishes and love. ...
