... started, we did not get soaked this time! The tent was set up and everything was inside and dry in about 15 minutes :) .....time to relaxe and listen to the thunderstorms roll through, as we stay dry and warm! Thursday, June 05 2014 Woke up late, which made for a hot day of hiking. There was no water for over 13 miles...and then we had to hike .2 mile down to a shelter to get some. As we hiked on, we came to the picnic area, there was trash cans and working water :)! ...
... park is really green and the skyline drive is really nice. We would have enjoyed it more if when we stopped at overlooks they had boards to tell you what you were seeing. We kept seein the same thing so the decision to exit was pretty easy. So we're off our planned route. Tonite we're rooming it in Culpeper, VA. Closest campground we found out of the park had two reviews and both were incredibly lousy. Basically an avoid at all costs. So we did. ...
... looking around the shops, we went to eat lunch at the red robin restuarunt. We then went ot buy some scrapbooks and craft materiels for them in Michael's (craft store) followed by a trip to Barnes and Noble bookstore. When we get back we will show you guys the scrapbooks we have done.
Overall a very sucessful day, depsite the heat.
