Hot Water Beach we had been informed that low tide was to be around 11pm, this is important as it is customary to wander down to the beach at said time with a spade or other digging device and then proceed to dig a hole. If all goes well and your patch of sand has a hot rock under it then- hey presto! The water in the resultant hole is warm or in some cases almost boiling. It gets so hot that burnt toes are a real risk as you precariously dip your foot in to 'test the waters' ...

... Naja...aber da SOnntag war hat sie dort nur auf den Anrufbeantworter gesprochen. Die ganze Nacht hatte ich mir bereits ausgemalt, was ich mache, wenn der Bus nicht kommt und ich doch zur Stadt laufen muss und das auf keinen Fall innerhalb von 15 Min. machbar ist. Ich sah mich schon dort noch einen Tag versauern, weil ich den einzigen Bus verpassen würde...aber komischerweise läuft hier irgendwie immer alles. Punkt 7:15 Uhr kam der Bus und alle Sorgen waren mal wieder umsonst. ...

Tallulha. We have had an offer for Tallulha at the asking price. Hope it comes off. We are going to hire a camper for our trip to the South Island which starts next week. ... and most of it is windy, up and down and single lane in some parts which means it feels like it goes on forever!! All corners show a max speed limit and by staying to them it feels a very safe but fun drive (it would certainly make a good Top Gear road!)

... able to polish our creations. They were then put on string for us with a little card that reminded us of the meaning of what we had created. The whole project took about 2 hours to create. I think it is fair to say that neither of us will become professional bone carvers… or dentists for that matter. Lastly, we were told that it was bad luck to put our necklaces on ourselves. If you were choosing to wear it yourself, you had to have someone else put it on for you.
