... the logging history and the history of Leavenworth. There were bridges on either side of Blackbird Island. The river was really low and the couple of people who were trying to float down the river had to get out and push a lot. I sure wished I had brought my binoculars as there were lots of birds.

We've seen blue sky for a few days in a row now, a welcome change from the heavy, oppressive smoke, so I was able to get back out and go running for the first time in a few weeks and boy did that feel good!

The cool, fresh air inspired Rob and I to clean the house today, top to bottom. Dusting the bookshelves and washing the walls ...

So smoky due to the fires! We just wanted to get some air, finding the fresh stuff just south of the US/Canadian border.

We stopped at a fruit stand in Summerland to get gifts. Stopped at the border to give them all of our tomatoes and green onions. Stopped to convert the car's electronics back to miles from kilometers. Finally stopping at Leavenworth for the ...
