... are hundreds of years old and enormous. The whole place is very atmospheric. From there we went to Tofino, which was disappointing. The map shows it more or less surrounded by water, but there were no walkways or roads round the perimeter. However Pacific Rim Park was something else. We only stopped for a few minutes, but the beaches were huge, with enormous rolling waves and pale sand. On to Ucluelet, a very nice motel. Fabulous ...

After spending 10 hrs at the bike shop watching my bike being built by Will himself, I am taking my first overnight trip. Started at Matt's place to the BC Ferry then on to brother Ed's place in White Rock for a visit with mom then return tomorrow. She has done France then across to Brazil up to Ecuador Flew ...

... straight for Jasper to get some gas and was greeted by more wildlife, right in the middle of town. There were four elk strolling across the road to nibble on the shrubs in someones yard. I stayed in my car to take my photos, but there was a guy that thought it would be a good idea to get really close and taunt them for a better picture... he almost got head-butt and one of them charged at him. There's a reason the first thing they tell you ...

... fine as there was still so many walkways and trails! Indeed by the end of the day we must have walked 20k easily! Our legs felt like we had at least! We started off walking one of the harbour trails that took us along the harbour to Fishermans Wharf and past some cool little floating houses! It turned out to be another hot sunny day which was awesome and everywhere looked so pretty! We walked to the coast where we could see the Olympic ...
