The bridge connects the NY and VT sides of Lake Champlain and Crown Point Fort ruins, museum, state park and Champlain Lighthouse are on the end of the NY side of this new bridge. ... of the president, we arrived at the George Washington Mountain Cog Railway a few minutes later than we wanted and missed the early morning steam train, having to go up the later diesel train. Mallett's Bay is located on the 40 mile Island Line Trail. We biked about 12 miles of this beautiful, well maintained trail that includes waterfront and parks which connects Burlington to South Hero Island. A large portion of this trail is a former Rutland Railroad railbed (stopped running in the 1960s) which includes a very long causeway across Malletts Bay.
