So after a long haul with transfers at Melbourne and Los Angeles we arrived at a rain soaked NYC with evidence of the recent snows still about.

Hit the ground running with a visit to some of the local shops and then into bed around midnight (ish). Up at 0600 for an early morning walk around parts of Central Park while both girls went to the Gym here at the Manhattan Club. Followed this with breakfast at a ...

... The new museum is brilliant and well worth the visit.. The memorial pools are built on the bases of the old towers and you can go below and see the old twin tower bases...
The displays and stories very vivid and touching.....Quite overwhelming really.

    Bloody freezing though.....
Ps there was a Deborah Welsh on one of the planes as a stewardess...

Off uptown for some entertainment.... More later.....

... from cake box. We wanted to mooch around downtown Nyc to see the places we missed yesterday. We all separated when we had to change at 34 st for our different trains, we headed off to 8th st - 'Greenwich village'

After our initial disorientation and walking around the same block in circles, we got our bearings and headed to our first recommendation by Mark B. It was more of an old style residential area with no skyscrapers, only the more ornate and original ...
