Last day in Cape Town
How to make the most of our last day in Cape Town? There were somethings we had to do. Drop off the rental car (drag); have lunch with my parents (always a pleasure); have a steak (hard to beat South African meat and I hadn't had a steak yet); and take my students on a field trip to the Heart Museum.
Caitlin had other plans. She and 2 friends decided to spend the day at the waterfront.

... me ease into getting used to the hot weather.
My hotel is situated at the bottom of Table Mountain which is a huge rugged mountain that dominates the skyline.
Tomorrow morning my tour starts and we will driving up the coast of South Africa and into Namibia. My posts should get more exciting from here on in as I am sure I will have lots of new adventures to report on. Until next time...

"Hi Teacher!" Day 1 @ Hope Centre
I woke up really excited for the day, which is always a good thing :)! Moses drove us to Hope Centre after we dropped the Medical volunteers off at their centre in Masiphumelele. The children all ran out the gates and stampeded the minibus to welcome us. We only had 10 out of the 20 children in today, which was nice to break us in gently on our first day.
The days at Hope are very structured (righttttt up my street, as many of you know!), ...
Sky Dive!!
... like "you need to strap here the other way so she’s facing you" and “how can you concentrate gerry with those legs”, bit of a weirdo and not the most professional guy in the world but pretty harmless (I think..). We squeezed into the plane ready to make the ascent which took about twenty minutes. I managed to stay pretty calm on the way up and looked out the window whilst humming “all my life” by the Foo Fighters.

Finally, a winery!!
So, we finally got to visit our first winery today! Actually 2, Southern Right and Hamilton Russell, both owned by Anthony Hamilton Russell. At first, he was pretty stiff and all business like when we were tasting the wines, but then we went up to his house to where his wife, Olive, was hostin lunch for us. Did I mention his wife was formerly known as Louise, but Anthony wanted ...
