Yesterday was a good day to stay here for R&R and catch up. Enjoyed the sun in the afternoon on our 'patio'. Part of our tickets at the zoo included admission to the Safari Park 30 mi. north of the zoo so that was our destination today. Nice park but not as developed as the zoo. ... River, near Phantom Ranch. It's interesting to note that the heavy, 2" steel cables are over 500 feet long and were carried to the bottom of the canyon on human shoulders. We crossed one at the bottom of the Bright Angel trail and the other on the way out, as we started up the steeper South Kaibab trail.

... in the trees, the baby was right up the top of the tree and mum was down the bottom slumped over some branches, have a look at the pics she was so cute. We continued on up to the Polar Bear exhibit and had a wander through again, there was carrots all over their exhibit supposedly they love eating carrots!
