... Later a sanatorium was added around the corner and up the hill for people with tuberculosis. Now, unfortunately the buildings are in ruins, but it is a relatively easy walk up to the foot of the mountain and the springs. ... sky is bright blue contrasting with the bright white dunes and her other tours have been stinking hot and sweaty with the temperature around 100 degrees. We are a bit lucky to have it rainy and overcast I suppose. We stopped for lunch at Walmart in Alamogordo at 11.45 am and had to be back at 12.45 pm. ... Passed the Continental Divide at 4585 feet west of Deming, NM. My travel buddy wasn't up to par today, so we passed up Tombstone, and Silver City (cave drawings). Got to Big Chili Inn (not kidding, see review above), which was just as advertised, cheap and fun. I went to play Trivia while Jane rested. Tomorrow, will see local sights.

Yesterday was a travel day. By the time we got up and got unhooked and ready it was 9 am and the propane dealer in town was open. I figure this fresh tank of propane will last about two months, just being used for hot water and cooking, and not needing the heater on. However, I did turn the heater on for a few minutes this morning. We hit our first rain of the trip yesterday, on the way here.
