... our day on White Sands National Monument. On our drive there we were stopped at a Border Patrol Check Point. As we travel near the Mexico Border we will probably be stopped in Arizona too.

... back I certainly was reminded to put on my long sleeves.

We hiked out of the park happily with Baxter, now wearing his backpack to cart our trash out with us. Brian attempted to drive the stick shift car, but gave up after stalling out in the parking lot. In his defense, the heat was brutal and we wanted to hit the road to get to Jose's house in Tempe AZ as quick as possible: we knew we had all the good stuff and comforts of home waiting for us there!
