We started in Spokane after flying in from Seattle.

First stop ... Costco in Coeur d'Alane to get some supplies for the road. Lots of water, and some meal bars to save on snacks. Then comes the realization that we (ie: Stuart) forgot our bag of bathroom supplies!

Second Stop ... Walmart! Bathroom supplies bought, along with some other extra items (sun screen most importantly).

The mom across from me, who had been plenty busy keeping her girls occupied ...

I didn't get to bed Monday night, at 2:30 or so I left home and drove to Ben's, on the way the driver's window of the Subaru decided it didn't like going up or down any more and stopped in the mid range. The last 80 or 90kms I had a gale force cold wind blowing in on me!

Ben got me to the station, I was in plenty of time to book in for ...

On the way to Whistler

... a group decked out with downhill bikes, with knee, elbow, neck, and breast protection as well as full face helmets. We had our nice light quarter helmets perfect for a cross country ride. And gloves. Fingerless gloves. Actually, Tristan had gloves and I didn't. We kept up with these folks pretty well. Actually Tristan overtook one of the riders as we reached an opening. Unfortunately his effluvia got the better of him at that point of time as he was ...
