... t think that was the part you want to close your eyes.

On the longer lines, you can build up some real speed - especially the Flyin Kauaian's from Alaska. When we came to the last line (the 1/2 mile one), I timed some of the folks as they went. I couldn't time myself however, I was busy holding on!! Nobody wanted to go first, so brave Sheila stepped up. It took her 43 seconds - that is 53.5 miles per hour to complete ...

Today had a lazy start, lounging around the apartment. Marla took pictures and completely captured the essence of the Kauai island's ubiquitous avian residents. We decided to take a hike to the waterfall up the road that we had heard about. The hike was mostly pavement but all steadily uphill until we reached the power line trail. Then the hike turned MUDDY! A travel blog entry by richinpa on May 04, 2014

Went to 9AM mass at St Williams in Hanalei. Since we were at Wake Up cafe the morning before we tried Kalypsos for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. I had Peaches and Cream French Toast and Georgia had an omelette, both were outstanding. Lazy day, hung around the condo. Dinner at The Tavern at the Prince Course. Both of us had one of their signature Mai Tais and we both had Parmesan encrusted Opah. One of the best meals I have ever ...

We got up at 7:00 this morning and left for the mountain before 8:00. We got up to Kalalau Lookout shortly after 8:30. On the way up we saw the Erckel's Francolin a grouse'like bird and life bird for us. It was along the highway and we saw seven of them altogether by the end of the day. When we got to Kalalau we were treated to a wonderful view of the NaPali Coast. We could see the last beach at the end of the 12 mile Kalalau ...
