Today we hiked through the Kilauea Ike (Ike meaning small) crater. We went around the ridge, hiked down through the lava lake, and back up the side. Sadly, I fell down for the first time this hike, but luckily made it out with just a scraped knee. The lava lake was really cool. The ground was really broken up. ... Saturn... and its rings are just phenomenal. Apparently the rings are just rocks of ice floating around and reflecting light.

What a conclusion to a long and eventful night on Mauna Kea. But worth fighting the cold temperatures and the long wait for the clouds to clear. We will never forget this special stargazing evening in Hawaii and the day we finally got to see Saturn and its beautiful rings... what a view!

... we planned full day. We started in the morning heading north and found lots of interesting stops on our way. First Akaka falls - would be more suggestible during rainy season, however it was gorgeous waterfall, a bit tiny however above 440m running down from cliff. Next stop - Train museum.I would say that this stop gave us a lot of history, actually 95%25 of museum staff was donated by locals - pictures, found items etc, You can see a great part on history, how trains were used ...
