After dropping the bikes off and having a quick feed, we went and saw Luc Vanlaere . He is a famous musician who plays all of his own compositions on a variety of harps (orchestral, classical, meditation one, one with 240 strings he had crafted… and some others!). All hand made, no electronics or synthetic sounds. What a character! It was free entry, with donations welcomed. ...

Sunday 24th

157 miles today - in wind and rain, luckily not too many lorries as it was Sunday. It was a most unpleasant journey and we were glad to reach Jabbeke safely about 1.00pm only to find Klein Strand shut for lunch, again! So once more it was sandwiches in the car park. The crossing was quite smooth much to Serena's relief, of course I had to have my usual fat boy breakfast while she ate my toast, greedy i call that. Missey also survived and seemed none the worst for being left down in the car.

During lunch, I discovered the perfect soundtrack to describe Bruges. Funny enough, the restaurant was playing 80s music on the radio. The music sounded re-recorded for a more up to date feel, but otherwise it fit perfectly as I looked out the window at the square. Cindy Lauper and more belting it out and having us singing along.
