... Their English is very good and they shared how they are one of hundreds of Belgiums who adopt graves of WWI veterans to maintain. They tend a U.S. Army Sargent from Ohio. They were genuinely proud of their contribution to those who gave their lives to save their country a hundred years ago. Very touching.

We left home around 6.00am, giving ourselves plenty of time to get to Dover early for check-in, and as Murphy's Law goes, sailed down the M2 in just over an hour! Up at half 6 to let very VERY spritely Prego into the van. Phew! She's definitely a different rabbit from yesterday. We had our cuppas, finished off last nights Sharpe (actually obsessed now!) then headed out for a walk. We stopped off at reception to enquire about buses and extending our stay. As Belgians allow dogs on buses, we're now staying here an extra three nights (leaving Thursday) and going to take the bus a couple of days to Bruges and Ostend to explore these bigger ...

... and showers then gave her her brek. She ate most of it but didn't finish it. Now anyone who knows Prego knows she NEVER leaves food! So we instantly thought something was amiss. ... a barn and it had weird bits of fake meat hanging from the ceiling. No idea what that was about. Overall Gent is more city like than Brugge and it feels like it has more of an edge to the place, but Brugge was so pretty it will still be my favourite.

One alleyway I went down was totally covered in graffiti, which was totally allowed as there were loads of kids down there adding to it. It was controlled anarchy!
