Mt Washington is 6288 feet high, so since we were in the vicinity, we decided to do a day's hike up to the top. The mountain has the reputation of having the world's worst weather, totally unpredictable and extreme. Undeterred, we headed off in glorious weather, puffing a bit since we were out of form. Now this has to be the quintessential New England town! It is my favorite place so far. Of course staying at the Woodstock Inn may have contributed to that. ... This morning after Jenny cooked us delicious eggs and pancakes, I got onto I-90 for the five hour stretch to Woodstock. The drive was familiar and boring as always but I was excited to be back in my home state. So now I am sitting at a picnic table in Woodstock enjoying very familiar views and scents and I am feeling very nostalgic. Very nice to be back. It is always nice to come back here and to be welcomed by lots of cows and familiarity.
