... place in Seward. I think they are very clever animals as they would look straight at you and soon as they saw the camera they would dive and come up in a completely different place. They congregated in a place called Solomons Gulch. There is a massive waterfall, made stronger by all the rain I suppose and it goes under the road and comes out beside the fish hatchery. ... hatchery to see if there was any action. There was a lot of people waiting as the buzz online was that there was a big female that came down between 7-9pm for dinner. I waited for about an hour, saw a bunch of salmon working way to hard against the current and a lot of fat sea gulls. An eagle soared high above for a moment.

... Once in the town we detoured to walk the Solomon Gulch Trail which wound its way up the hill on the other side of the bay to the town. It made Bear Gryll's list of top 10 day walks, so we thought we'd better do it, and the view of the harbour was spectacular.

We finally made it to our hotel, and enjoyed dinner in the restaurant overlooking the harbour with the sun glistening on the mountains, before turning in in anticipation of a very early morning ...
