... opposite our direction of travel the next with. The rugged mountains loom around us. Many streams forming cascades flow down the steep sided bluffs. The source of all the water is the ice fields and glaciers that are not visible from our location.

With a relatively short drive today, we slept in a little before making the final drive into Valdez. Valdez is the end of the Alaska pipeline and the port where tankers fill their holds with oil. It is also a fishing port.

I forgot to mention, as we drove in yesterday we passed two lots of Hunters with Moose heads with full racks on their heads, tied down ontop of stuff in the back of their utes..Saw another one today...Lucky we got our moose photos early in the trip ! Sad Face ...
