... stairs down put the ones at Corniglia to shame- thankfully this trip in general has conditioned me not to blink at countless steps with or without my big pack. ... in the upper window. They all proved to be camera shy so I was unable to capture the moment.

We walked down to the park gate and paid our entry fee of 110 kunas each ($18.75 CAD). Off to a free boat to travel across the lake and to enjoy the rain. Did I mentioned it was raining? On the other side we went to the souvenir shop to warm up. Checked with information and was advised to take a certain trail for a nice walk along ...

... the trip was very cruisey, we saw some beautiful country side and small towns and stopped to have lunch at a very cute little roadside restaurant and hooked into some tradtional Croatian goulash and stuffed cabbages with dumplings.
I had written the address of the B&B down on a piece of paper and after a little guess work found ourselves in what reminded us of a caravan park but with little houses instead of caravans, we followed the signs and found number 129, our home or so ...

... frustrating not to be able to jump in and cool off every now and again. After the walk around the upper lakes we jumped back on another boat to take us across one of the lakes and, after a drink stop, continued on woth a tour of the lower lakes, including views of the parks largest waterfall, Veliki Slap.
All in all, the park is beautiful in the sunshine with the turquoise waters and numerous little waterfalls. It's a little like a mini European version ...

... slipped out of Pauls pocket the night before while checking email. Instead of Paul eating humble pie and admitting that he lost the camera, I was made responsible for loosing all the pictures since I did not save them last night to the laptop.
