... time of it with our beloved NHS in her last few weeks. I felt pretty angry and helpless being over here, unable to help my family at a time when really you should be together.
She was a wonderful woman and very lucky not to have read my blog as i insisted that she should, it may have taken the edge of our relationship!
But i hope that my life is as fruitful as hers, though it is unlikely to be as long!
Love you Nan, always will and always thinking fond thoughts of you.
Peace.

A weekend in Paradise

... I’ve still be bitten to death (I don’t think it works much!)

And in case we’ve made anyone too jealous with our weekend in Paradise….

Lessons learned:

Loperamide is essential in paradise. I second that.

Don’t say ‘It’s a good thing we’re ok with creepy crawlies’ after seeing a few (well actually a lot) of ants in your room cause there’s bound to be a ...

Wednesday - May 20

... Today is a Fernando day, so we are enjoying some time before he comes in at 8AM.  It's been great having Fernando help us with things around the property but we are not used to having anyone around like that.  The first thing for the day was moving the boat that was under the main palapa to the smaller one to make room for the truck.  Even though Scott is a good driver, I really didn't want to look, everything ended up ok.  Hooray! Now the truck has a new home under the main ...

... bars here also have dartboards and one is delightfully called Faya Water. The local murder statistics appear 'ínteresting´'. Wednesday we took the day trip to the ruins at Caracol - 50 miles of dirt roads but through good forest and subtropical jungle. We had an excellent guide via Maya Walk tours & the ruins are very interesting (again). We came back via a fabulous cave at Rio Frio & a waterfall swim at Rio On Pools - a power shower moment. Sailing in the Caribbean - Part II

... for ourselves and sworn to never drinking rum punch again!! I woke at sunrise to the sounds of Gareth out on the beach hurling. I on the other hand felt surprisingly good. It was a very quiet trip that day. The snorkeling just increased Gareth's headache so he was down below for most of the day feeling very sorry for himself and hoping he'd be able to keep lunch down. The teenage boys on the boat set about trying their luck again fishing. Their dad soon had pulled in a 6lb ...

Hey all, Today we went to Altun Ha, which is the most popular Mayan Temple of the five sites around the Carribbean. We found out that ruins are replicas but we were at the originals that were built starting about 3600 years ago. Pastor Jim had a problem at first bringing mission groups there becuase of all the pagan worship that took place there. But he shared an awesome point with us ...

... and in front of the parking lot. Selmo parked the car at the edge of the parking lot by two large wooden swings under a small thatch roof, told us that he would take care of our bags, and said to head down the path starting between the two swings that leads to the office. As we walked down the short path, we noticed that there were no other cars in the parking lot, that we didn't hear anybody else talking or walking around on the grounds, and that ...
