Today, we visited the Van Damme State Park, the place we would have camped at if it was not for the weather forecast. We went hiking on the Fern Canyon trail, which was 3.5 miles one way, and another 3.5 miles back. The trail was probably longer, but we stopped at 3.5 miles. Right now i am sitting outside at the Emerald Dolphin Inn in Fort Bragg, just north of Mendocino, waiting for Jie to finish getting ready to head out. What a a great drive thru the Lost Coast yesterday! ... for dinner, a quick stop later we headed for home. Hot showers and hot chocolates later the kids were much happier. With full tummies we herded them off to bed, another wonderful day on our holiday.

Tomorrow we will tidy up and make our way back down to Davis. Driving the first stretch will be a bit nerve racking as the road is incredibly windy and the drop off the side quite steep. We are so lucky none of the kids get carsick!
