Day 10 - Redwood National and State Parks

... then stopped at one of the parks to get some information. On our way there we saw a sign for a wild elk area and drove up to it to see if we could see the elk. It was a pretty isolated spot, but we didn't see anything so we kept driving. A few miles up the road were cabins you could rent, and wouldn't you know, there were all the elk.....by the people begging for food! We decided they probably liked cheetos from human vs. hunting for their own food.

... and "Holy Sh--". The thing that gets him the most is the lack of guard rails along the cliff-side of the roadway. Plus the fact that a Mustang or Porsche would be more maneuverable on the hairpin curves and switchbacks than our big F350 truck -- oh well. Hi there,

Funnily enough, despite this being California, we have struggled to get phone cover or wifi on this coast . Anyhoo, we had a great time exploring the National Parks of the Sierra Nevada, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite, dodging the late snowstorms, (bless Icebreakers).The sights were wonderful: hiking to waterfalls, the giant Sequoia trees and granite mountains. ... shedding some clothes and building a sand castle with a moat. It was great to see them all working together and having such fun. It was a magical evening in a lovely spot. Not long before the sun actually set the temperature dropped and it was time to get everyone out of the water before they froze completely! Might have left it a moment too long as suddenly there were tears and shivers a plenty.
