My night was subpar, Ashton woke about midnight and even though he came into my bed he had trouble settling back to sleep until nearly five. I should have gotten up then and joined Henry and Kathy for their morning ritual at Sea Ranch, a 3 1/2 mile hike.

We got ourselves packed and in the car before nine this morning for our drive up the coast of California to Sea Ranch to stay with Kathy and Henry Thornhill. I've known them since I was a young teenager, used to babysit their two kids Tina and Mike. We were very lucky to be able to join them at their house in Sea Ranch for a few days.
