My night was subpar, Ashton woke about midnight and even though he came into my bed he had trouble settling back to sleep until nearly five. I should have gotten up then and joined Henry and Kathy for their morning ritual at Sea Ranch, a 3 1/2 mile hike.

We made a brief stop in Petaluma before winding our way up the coast. The last 80kms is very windy, we are so lucky to have kids that don't get affected by car sickness or it could have been a very slow difficult journey. We were really pleased to arrive and be greeted by Henry and Kathy.

We decided to head on back to Berkeley after having another nice breakfast of potatoes, peppers, onions and eggs at the picnic area. We were looking for whales but did not see any.

Walked around on the headlands in town, the art museum, watched the sunset and then we all agreed we were ready to call it a day and off to bed we went.
