... as a mecca for fiber-based crafts and had to see it for myself. I am now considerably poorer, but very happy. I learned a new knitters acronym yesterday, STABLE (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy). I haven't quite reached that stage, but WEBS put me a couple of yards closer.

... hadn't met on that occasion, Poul might have stayed in the U.S. and become a U.S. citizen.
After breakfast Sunday morning at the Sheraton we enjoyed a pleasant drive out of New York City and camped in Mystic, Connecticut. It's getting a little chilly in the tent but we are now on our way another campground in Massachusetts and at least one more night in the tent - but we will have another big campfire tonight!

... the eastern entrance to Fishers Island Sound and to warn mariners of a dangerous reef southwest of Watch Hill. President Thomas Jefferson signed an act to build the lighthouse in 1806 and construction was completed in 1807. The first lighthouse stood 35 feet tall. The next lighthouse, opened in 1856, stands 45 feet tall. The lighthouse was automated in 1986 and leased to the Watch Hill Light Keepers Association.
