... to a Hy-Vee to restock. What a weird name for a grocery store. I guess it's not as bad as the Texas chain HEB, which stands for Harry E Butts. Two guys wanted to give me advice on changing my route. This doesn't instill confidence in the next 50+ miles I need to do today. I decided to stay on route. We took the scenic route back through Burlington before hitting Galesburg again. A quick shower and some make up and we were ready to hit up this small ...

Sept. 25th drove the Great River Road alongside the east side of the Mississippi. Beautiful drive through the lower south east side of WI and over into the north west side of Illinois. Rolling hills, beautiful trees, lots of farms with the livestock outside in pastures. Drove more into Illinois and nothing but corn and soybeans......ugh!! Flat, see lots of those livestock trailers, thank god all we've seen are ...

... one of the best lunches we’ve had this season yet.

I forgot the name of it, but it’s a restaurant below a furniture store downtown (all owned by the same folks) and they specialize in the best comfort food you could ever want to eat. I got the Hungarian Goulash in a bread bowl and I was THRILLED to see Liptauer (a Hungarian cheese spread that I fell in love with when I worked at ...
