The title nearly says it all, I just need to add that the staff are so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful

This place is old, like seriously old, and it is amazing. The staff are friendly and can tell you the best places to eat in town (Pine Country Cafe has the most amazing list of pies!). The rooms are themed, we stayed in the old bunkhouse. What a little gem!

Luckily we had collected oiur train tickets yesterday, so it gave us a bit more time before the train left. Vegas, Hoover dam, Route 66 and Grand Canyon

Following on from Death Valley, we spent the morning driving down to Vegas. The first thing we did was go and check out Hoover dam which is about 40minutes drive away. It was great. It's in a very beautiful area with deep canyons. The water of the Colorado River looked amazing.

... How in the world could I say no to that :)
We started down the cliffs, and soon realized that the sure footed, hiking gene has been successfully passed down to another generation. Without a drop of fear, she maneuvered and figured her way down that steep trail, and out onto a flat rock with the most amazing view.
Perfect introduction to the Grand Canyon...tomorrow we will be back for more.
