Like all of our adventures, we began the day of travel very early in the morning. For some reason, this time only Leslie's ticket had the notification "TSA pre-check". It really did not matter, that option is not available at the Grand Junction Regional Airport.
Headed out this morning towards Moab. I did see a huge arch on the way but could not get into Arches or Canyonlands NPs . . . I am definitely going to come back to Utah and see this stuff some time. Heading out of Moab I took a route that followed the Colorado river. The river is much smaller than I imagined . . . More the size of the Great Miami or Fox rivers than the Ohio or Mississippi. ...

Colorado still had more fantastic scenery for us...the section of I-70 around Glenwood Springs is some of the most beautiful views i've ever seen from an interstate. The road meanders through these spectacular canyons that obscured the setting sun. We also went through Vail which was also cool.
Got into Grand Junction and got into bed. Only a few more days and we're at Lake Tahoe!
