Gocce di Napoli Naples

Nous avons pris l'autobus publique pour atteindre le sommet du vesus, le volcan n'a pas tellement a offrir, mais la vue sur la bay est vraiment belle. Ensuite, nous avons visités les ruines d'Herculaneom. Une autre ville disparue sous l'eruption du vesus il y a pres de 2000 ans. il y a encore beaucoup de travail d'archeologie en cours, mais on peut voir que la ville est meiux conserver, il y a meme des batiments de 2 et 3 etages et des pieces de bois qui ont traversé le temps !

I am so far behind with this blog. Partly, it's because we have traveled every single month during 2009. There's so much to tell & show that unless I write every week, I'm always several trips behind. The other problem is ...

Ola Kala: simply, OK (in Greek). No time for lots of flap.....we're on the go. The Vatican Museums await us (and we can hardly wait to do more walking!). Enjoy the pictures and we'll fill you in on the adventure next time I make the time to sit and gab.

Found a really cool red leather satchel to replace my old grey nylon one that has given me 9or10 years of service.
Florentine leather - so nice...
Also went to get 1 more tripe roll before leaving town and discovered they had beef too so tried one of them instead. Just as amazing as the tripe one!!!

... book filled with images of Mount Vesuvius exploding and burying the nearby cities filled with panicking people running to an fro... It is more than I could have imagined... and even better being that I was able to share the experience with my young boys...

I do need to say that by the time our 4 days in Naples was coming to a close... we were all ready to escape the noisy caverns of the city... next stop... A farmstay on the edge of the Abruzzo National Park...

... a brothel. The brothel was pretty funny to see. There was a penis statue on the wall outside the entrance, a penis on the sidewalk pointing towards the brothel, and there were paintings on the walls inside of sexual positions. Naples - 13th April 2008. We had a late start in Naples, as our trip did not leave until 9:30, the day was bright and sunny. Its lucky I did too, because in Athens when i asked for the ticket i was quoted at 50 Euros (75$!!), but then later in Patras when i asked the same company for the same ticket, the woman behind the counter said that there was a special deal on, and that they coiuld sell me the ticket for only 35 Euro (50$).
