... that’s hosted by the “Rory Foundation”. And true to Irish weather form, the tournament finished today in glorious sunshine, albeit the golfers were still wearing thick gloves between shots.

A (rather ordinary) dinner at Patrick Collins pub ended a special day of diverse scenery, spectacular cliffs, rolling green paddocks with stone walls and a picturesque village.

Adare is a must for anyone visiting ...

... We are headed to either Dromineer or Terryglass after Jeff's golf game and laundry pick up. I am sure that we will bump into another pub along the way for a cold one. You can always count on meeting friendly locals with stories and advice for our travels. Like I said in my last blog, going to the pub is what you do, so we do!!! ... Power Station looked impressive as we were doing around 6 knots passing it.
Glin Castle came next and them Labasheeda and Loughill.
At Foynes Island we had to get out of the way of a loaded ship with Alumina from Aughinish.
Its a busy Jetty with 2 ships tied up there most of the time.
Passing Aughinish was nostalgic and why wouldnt it be.
They were unloading a bauxite ship as were passing,the grab takes out 40 tons of bauxite at a time ...

... to the hostel. Once there it was not bad. When hearing the word hostel one thinks that there will be one shared bathroom on the very top floor, a room with a cot, no windows and no television. Here it was just like a hotel: bathroom in each room, cable television, a window, one double bed and one twin. In the same token, I did not sleep well. The next bus didn't leave until 11, which meant we wouldn't get to Cashel until about 1:30 and would only have about 3 hours to wander around before we would have to catch the last bus back to Limerick. I'm telling you, public transportation is pretty shabby, but still not as bad as LA!
