... Feels like summer! Sunny and in the 70's, I actually wore shorts today! I attended a lecture by brother Richard that related the hero’s journey in Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Narnia.. .very fascinating! I also had a lovely conversation with the cute old lady who was walking her puppies. Why is everyone so nice here!
Friday: Mom comes today!!!!!!! I got to show her all around campus and the city.

Declan told us more stories of the potato famine on the way, including the fact that many young male Irish immigrants to America were drafted at Ellis Island by either the Union or the Confederacy to fight. First Day Trip
... with the exception of a few locals. We ordered nachos for an appetizer and received Doritos soaked in tomato sauce with a slice of melted slice of cheese. It did not look appetizing and no one in the group really cared for it. Lesson learned: don’t order nachos in Ireland.
All in all, it was a great day trip and we are all looking forward to our next one! ...
How Ireland works
Arriving in Shannon airport wasn't too difficult. Had no luggage checked in, so just passed through everything, got to the rental car office and picked up the rental car. It was interesting because I get to the office, the guy gives me the key, tells me he has to leave, but take the car on the end and if anything's wrong let the guys in the garage know. Then he left.

Galway and Cork
... convinced that Galway is the most beautiful city I've ever seen. The next morning I left for Cork, Ireland which so far has proved to be a dissapointment. I'm going to explore the city a little bit today but I look forward to leaving tomorrow because it's quite shady. I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to leave Ireland tomorrow. Theres just so much I didn't get to see. I'll keep you all updated.
