Gold was discovered at Sutter's Mill in 1848. This find attracted Americans and immigrants alike. American men moved west and immigrants arrived via San Francisco's port. Towns such as Coloma and Virginia City grew steadily, but as soon as the gold was gone, their populations' plummeted. Though the gold was eventually all removed, the immigrant miners stayed in the area. The discovery of gold helped grow the American West into what is ...

We did a few day trips to Amador City and Sutter Creek. Lots of wineries in this area, so we did some wine tasting ...

      ... of the debate.
A few hundred people that night enjoyed the ranch party, company, country music, shooting, cowboy hats and checkered shirts, fire pits and fiery steel drums, meat fried on the BBQ, never ending catering, fireworks and of course a 12 hour open bar with enough Sierra Nevada kegs and top shelf liquor to sink a ship. It was one hell of a Ranch Party. How fortunate we were to be a part of that. Thank you Jeff and Kelly.
