Gite aux deux Lions Quebec City

I stayed at Au Deux Lions for four nights in the Vieux Quebec suite and it was delightful. There were lots of great restaurants nearby, the suite was bigger than many entire apartments and Jean-Francois the host was always good-humoured and helpful. I thought that it was a great deal for the level of luxury. Run don't walk!

The owner is very personable and eager to make you feel welcome. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was good. We will definitely be visiting this B&B again.

We have just returned from a four-day stay in Quebec City. I picked the Gite Aux Deux Lions B&B because it was close to the historic section of Quebec City and we could therefore leave our car parked and walk everywhere.

Our room, the Vieux-Quebec Suite, was wonderful: very clean and well appointed, with the added touch of a fully equipped kitchen, a built in stereo and a DVD player. My only regret was we didn't have enough time to enjoy the suite.

Our host, Jean-Francois, was hospitable, helpful and very attentive: he clearly wanted to make our stay an unforgettable experience. Each morning he provided a nutritious, interesting and palate pleasing breakfast. He inquired about our plans for the day and made suggestions that helped us get the most out of our tour of Quebec City.

The quoted price included taxes and there were no unexpected incidental expenses. Please note that this B&B only accepts cash or traveler's checks as payment.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Gite Aux Deux Lions B&B to anyone planning a trip to Quebec City.

Although this B&B is not located within the walls, it is close to everything. Frankly, it is nice not be in the thick of it all because it forces you to explore the City. My girlfriend and I loved to walk down Rue St. Jean, as the street has bakeries, an amazing chocolate shop, many restaurants and funky shops.

The rooms at the B&B are extremely clean, the breakfasts are hearty (Jean-François Dulac rotates by making French toast one day, croissants with ham and cheese the next, and waffles the day after) and the owner is extremely nice. Upon arrival, Jean-François will provide you with a city map and restaurant recommendations (FYI: use the business card that he gives you--it is a great place). The house is very cosy and it has a private entrance. Moreover, if you visit during the summer, breakfast is served on his backyard patio.

We stayed at Aux Deux Lions during the very busy weekend of the "Festival de la Nouvelle France", and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The house is immaculate yet welcoming, newly renovated, and very clean. The rooms are private and quiet. There is a nice deck where you can enjoy a glass of wine and watch people walking along Rene-Levesque.

Our host, Jean-Francois, was very welcoming and we enjoyed listening to his humorous stories over endless cups of coffee and breakfasts that prepared us for our long days of walking around Old Quebec.

Aux Deux Lion is very conveniently located within walking distance from the Old City, the Plains of Abraham, and is only a minute away from Cartier Road with its shops and little restaurants.

If you want a bit more space, we would recommend staying in the Suite Vieux-Quebec which made us feel like we were in our home away from home.

I would definitely recommend this B&B.

My wife and I recently stayed for two evenings at the Deux Lions B& B in Quebec City. We wanted to be close to the old city so that we could walk everywhere. This B&B is very close. It was very clean and the service was great. Very good atmosphere together with very good accomodations. We certainly reccomend this place.

When booking a room via an internet search, without any personal recommendation, there is always a risk that it won't be as good as its advertising makes it seem. What a treat to have our stay at Aux Deux Lions even better that expected.

We stayed in the Vieux Quebec suite for 5 days - the value was excellent - the room was well designed and extremely comfortable despite the summer's heat.

Our host, Jean Francois Dulac provided us with good breakfasts, friendly conversation and helpful recommendations for places to visit and to eat. But most of all, he fullfiled his promise that his service "included atll the peace and quiet we wanted".

The location was ideal for walking excursions into old Quebec, the Plains of Abraham and the ferry to Levis, and was close to restaurants, convenience and grocery stores as well as being easy to find on our way into town.

We recommend Aux Deux Lions highly.

My wife and I recently stayed here. We were extremely pleased with our accommodation in this B&B, we stayed in the Vieux Quebec Suite; it was immaculate and spacious, and located in the top floor of the home. The host, Jean-Francois, was the perfect compliment to our visit to Quebec. He provided us with a delicious breakfast and interesting conversations each morning. The location was very good as well, located about 15 minutes from the old city and 2 blocks from Cartier where there many fine restaurants to choose from and a short 15 minute walk into Old Quebec. When we make a return trip to Quebec in the future, I will definitely return to this B&B.

Stayed here this past summer. Great location - a short walk from Old Quebec and other attractions. The house is beautiful and the rooms (we stayed in two different ones) are bright and clean. Plus, there is free parking.

But what sets the Aux deux Lions apart is the incredible, friendly service. Jean-François, the owner, is a perfect B&B host. He is the definition of customer-centric, and did all the little things (including bringing us ice cream - after hearing my pregnant wife say she'd like some - one night while we sat on the veranda and played cards) to make us feel at home. Plus, the food is fantastic and plentiful, tailored to our wishes. We enjoyed breakfasting on the sunny back porch.

The other thing we enjoyed was the great price. We have stayed in various B&B's across north America and found this one to be one of our favorites.
