Windermere

... the snow. We carried on through Bowness and down past Windermere, somewhere we traditionally avoid like the plague. Lots of musings about what it would be like in summer, possible camping trip on the horizon? The Aquarium is right at the southern tip of Windermere, very pretty and much quieter than the bustle of Bowness. Took us a bit of time to find it but did in the end, tucked into the lakeside. ...

After another weary night of not sleeping, we decided a trip to the doctors was in order for Bella. Got an appointment very easily and didn't have to wait too long. Very nice boat, Lady of the Lake, and we were able to 'drive' Bella straight on in the pushchair. Sat up top for ...

Has the most amazing lunch - so so good! Huge amounts of beef, veg, roasties, massive Yorkshire, and a cabbage/bacon/ potato rosti type thing that was absolutely delicious. Kids portions would have been enough for me, I thought they had made a ...

Mayburgh Lodge

We have arrived at our little lodge for the week! Had a good run up the M6, took us about two and half hours after eventually leaving at least two hours behind schedule. Nana and grandad arrived shortly after too. Really nice to come back the lodge after 3 years away, our entry is still in the guest book! Had a ...
