    Today we picked up a rental car and headed for the mountains! As with many rentals, we got something bigger than we reserved because that was what they had...it's not too big though, and so far it has treated us well. Grant is getting back into the hang of driving a stick shift and Bonnie is navigating us through the mountain roads. The scenery today was just beautiful. So much green! We saw tons of paragliders and a few hang gliders ...

    As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

    ... we could only imagine how they did it. I recalled passing a sign at some point that indicated a toll road but nothing eventuated for over 150km. To my surprise after riding down a gradual incline for what seemed like at least half an hour we rounded a bend and were presented with a six lane toll booth.
